Terms of Service

HeartRestarted is a peer support community for cardiac arrest and ECMO survivors, their families and their supporters. You can share your story, join small circles, message other members, write down questions for your care team, make a personal safety plan, do a daily check-in and read educational material.

You must be 18 or older and live in the United States. By using HeartRestarted you confirm that you meet these conditions and that you can agree to these terms.

• Give accurate information.
• Keep your sign-in private and tell us if someone else gets in.
• You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• One person per account.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the Community Guidelines.

Please do not:

• Give medical advice, or tell another member what to do about their treatment or medicines.
• Post medical records, test results, prescriptions or photos of them, yours or anyone else's.
• Share another person's private details without their permission.
• Harass, bully, threaten or shame anyone.
• Post anything offensive, illegal or misleading, or pretend to be someone else.
• Advertise, solicit or spam.
• Try to break into, overload or copy our systems, or collect other members' information.

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to show it inside HeartRestarted to the people you choose, so the community can work. You promise you have the right to post it. We may remove content that breaks these terms. Other members can read what you post, so please think before you share personal or health details.

Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep and what we do not. HeartRestarted does not store health details, and you can delete your account and everything we hold about you at any time in Settings.

The HeartRestarted name, design, software and the material we write belong to us or the people who license it to us. You may use them to take part in the community, not to copy or sell them.

We sometimes link to other websites and services. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they say or do.

HeartRestarted is provided "as is" and "as available", without promises of any kind to the extent the law allows. We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, including lost data. Our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months, or $100, whichever is greater. HeartRestarted is free, so that amount is $100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

You agree to cover the claims, losses and costs that come from your breaking these terms or the law, or from what you post.

You can stop at any time and delete your account in Settings, which deletes everything we hold about you. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or to protect the community.

We may change these terms. We will tell you in the app or by email about important changes. If you keep using HeartRestarted after a change, you accept the new terms.

Please email us first and we will try to sort it out. If we cannot, disputes will be settled by binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, and you give up the right to bring or join a class action. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
